The Life of DMAs: UCLA seeks an Assistant Adjunct Professor on a WITHOUT SALARY BASIS

The University of California Los Angeles called for applications for the position of Adjunct Professor on a without salary basis, whose responsibilities will include: teaching according to the instructional needs of the department.

Qualified candidates for this academic slavery must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent discipline and have significant experience and a strong record in teaching chemistry or biochemistry at the college level.

According to the university's website, the tuition, and fees for the undergraduate program range between $37,448 (for California residents) and $68,474 (for nonresidents).

What do I think about it?

This and other horrific stories of exploitation of scholars and artists in the higher ed world should encourage the labor and student unions to fight against the greedy corporate machine, led by corrupt, nepotistic, and unqualified admins and their loyal puppets within the faculties.

The University quickly removed the post. But they got caught by the community and must answer the questions about their labor policies and treatment of scholars.
